NEED HELP FINDING THE PERFECT LOCATION?

One of the most important steps for having great pictures is choosing the right location. Urban or nature? Forest or field? Mountains, water or both? Below I have the most popular places that people choose for pictures in the Puget Sound area. Of course I love finding new places, so if you have a location you think would be beautiful, I'm game!

Lakewood, Washington

Fort Steilacoom Park is conveniently located only 35 minutes from Olympia and is one of the most popular places my clients choose for their sessions. It has a variety of scenic backgrounds including rustic barns, grassy fields, tree-lined walkways, a beautiful lake, and even graffiti if that’s the look you are going for. This park has such a diverse range of landscapes that whether you are going for the country look, the natural and untouched outdoorsy look, or something else, you will likely find what you are looking for here.

Tumwater, Washington

Pioneer Park, located in Tumwater, is a convenient and beautiful location for sessions if you live in the Olympia area. The best time to do a session there is spring through summer. There are tree-lined walking paths that lead to a river. You can take pictures on these paths, on the riverbank, or if you feel like cooling off, you can even take some pictures wading or splashing around a little bit. This location is ideal for almost any type of session, especially family and family reunion shoots.

Olympia, Washington

This area is ideal for any type of session, but it is especially popular for senior sessions. Between the capitol grounds and downtown Olympia there is a wide variety of unique backgrounds to meet the needs of whatever look you’re going for. Downtown offers several graffiti walls and other backgrounds with a lot of personality. If you time it right, we can get the cherry blossoms on the capitol grounds in the spring, and of course the cool architectural backdrops are an option all year long.

Hoodsport, Washington

Lake Cushman is one of my personal favorites for all types of sessions, because the area is absolutely breath taking. With sweeping mountain views, woods, and of course the lake, there’s not much more to ask for than what Lake Cushman has to offer. This location is a little off the beaten path, so there will be a small travel fee, but the amazing images you receive will make it totally worth it. Everyone will be asking you where you got your pictures taken.
